On Thursday, April 11, 2024, the time had finally come. The anticipation could turn into joy and this year's Hub Battle could take place. After we see you at the NRW-Tour about our instagram— and linkedinchannel were able to give first exciting insights into the other locations and start-ups, the wait was over. Im Bonner Cityhub All eight start-ups came together to win the 5th Hub Battle in NRW. The start-ups were there AKEYI ofthe Digital Hub MünsterLand, Fellbox From the RuhrHUB, Habbys from Starting point Cologne, LichtWart from the Founders Foundation gGmbH Bielefeld, Broker Whale ofthe DigitalHub Aachen, Smart Plastify from Starting point57 in Siegen, Soulely. de ofthe Digital Innovation Hub Düsseldorf as well as TF Industries from the host hub, the DIGITALHUB.DE. Not only on site in Bonn, but also via live streaming via Instagram, youtube and on Instagram, hundreds of start-up fans were able to watch and cheer on the battle either at the parties of the other NRW hubs or from home: Who will win the title of most exciting start-ups in NRW 2024?
From 18:00 it was time for the curtain up and the stage was clear for the ESC of start-ups: A voice from the commentator booth, Christoph Hoffmann,greeted the audience and accompanied them alongside the presenter Sophia Tran and the presenter Ken Reise, who even had various outfits up their sleeve through the evening. Before we pitched what it takes, our Special Guest Daniel Schmidt with me on a short trip back to the Hub Battle 2023. Together with Simon Grossmann the start-up Trusted craftsmen founded and brought the trophy to Bonn last year.
And let's go: Pitch after Pitch. Each start-up announced itself with a strong challenge and convinced the jury and the audience in just three minutes from their innovative idea. Each presentation was followed by three questions from the jury, who wanted to know exactly. Cristina Doumitrachko of DeepTech & Climate Fund, Christoph Büth from the NRW.BANK, Heike Snellen from the KPMG and Tobias Lakämper of Telekom Techboost represented our partners as jury members.
After the break and fresh drinks, it was time for Scoring. Just as with the ESC, the result was made up of 50% of the jury's points and 50% of the points from the audience, who of course were not allowed to vote for the start-up in their own region.
